Srinagar, June 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Baltal Base Camp today to review the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, scheduled to commence on July 3.
During his visit, the LG inspected various facilities and interacted with officials overseeing camp operations. He reviewed arrangements related to healthcare, power supply, communication, sanitation, food, lodging, traffic management, surveillance, track maintenance, and overall security.
The LG emphasized the need for round-the-clock availability of essential services and sufficient manpower to ensure a seamless experience for pilgrims.
He also inspected the ongoing development of the Disaster Management Unit and the Yatri Niwas Complex by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board. At the Base Camp Hospital, the LG assessed the medical infrastructure and inaugurated a new training ward for healthcare staff.
“Significant upgrades have been made to the Yatra arrangements. The Shrine Board, administration, J&K Police, security forces, service providers, and all departments have collectively ensured that the pilgrimage remains safe, peaceful, and devotee-friendly,” said LG Sinha.
He was accompanied by K.N. Rai (Member, SASB), Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari (CEO, SASB & Principal Secretary to LG), Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, Secretary S&T Dept. Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, DC Ganderbal Jatin Kishore, and senior officers from SASB, police, security forces, and other concerned departments.
