Delhi Police apprehends four Illegal Bangladeshi migrants, deports them after 12 years in hiding
This operation was part of a broader effort by the South West District Police to locate and deport illegal immigrants from the region.

NEW DELHI:  The Delhi Police has apprehended four illegal Bangladeshi migrants and subsequently deported them to their home country. This action comes as part of a sustained special campaign initiated six months ago by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed at identifying and removing foreign nationals residing unlawfully in Delhi.

Under this campaign, a team from the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of the South West District Police successfully arrested four Bangladeshi nationals who had been illegally living in India for the past 12 years. After completing all required legal and procedural formalities, the individuals were deported through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Mohd. Asad Ali (44), his wife Nasima Begum (40), their son Mohd. Naim Khan (18), and their daughter Asha Moni (13). All of them are originally from Farooq Bazar Ajwatari, P.O. Gongarhat, Phulbari Kurigram, Bangladesh.

This operation was part of a broader effort by the South West District Police to locate and deport illegal immigrants from the region. Acting on precise information received from a confidential informer, the AATS team swiftly tracked down the suspects in the Delhi Cantt area. During the investigation, the individuals were unable to provide any valid Indian documentation. Instead, they produced photocopies of Bangladeshi identity documents and admitted to having entered India illegally around 12 years ago by crossing the river.

A specially constituted team of dedicated police personnel carried out the mission. Commenting on the success of the operation, a senior police official stated, “This operation highlights the Delhi Police’s unwavering commitment to enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal immigration. Our main goal is to protect public safety and uphold the law by identifying and removing those who are residing in the country without legitimate authorization.” The proactive efforts and seamless coordination of the South West District Police have been widely appreciated, strengthening public trust in law enforcement’s role in maintaining national security.
