LG Reviews Final Preparations For Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review the final preparations for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, underscoring the need for seamless coordination, effective traffic management, and quality facilities for pilgrims undertaking the revered pilgrimage.

Top officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, and senior members of the Shrine Board and civil administration, attended the comprehensive review session held in Srinagar.

The Lieutenant Governor issued specific directions for widespread publicity of traffic advisories to ensure that routine life of local residents is not disrupted during the pilgrimage. “The movement of Yatris in designated convoys must be strictly followed and coordinated effectively by district administrations, police, and traffic authorities,” LG Sinha said.

Stressing the importance of maintaining basic amenities, the LG directed Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all Lodgement Centres and sanitation facilities are fully functional and in good condition ahead of the Yatra commencement.

The LG also took stock of the security preparedness, coordination between departments, and readiness of medical, drinking water, and emergency response infrastructure along both Baltal and Pahalgam routes.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is set to begin shortly, and the administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that pilgrims experience a spiritually enriching and safe journey in the lap of the Himalayas.
